The Bearcats are one of the most successful and respected basketball clubs in Australia and currently competes in the Central Conference of the Australian Basketball Association (ABA). The club has over 300 families involved from junior to senior level. Our senior program provides NBL and WNBL representatives to the Adelaide 36ers and Adelaide Lightning, as well as other Australian and Overseas clubs. The club has a proud enviable history dating back to 1946 and has produced many national and Olympic players.
The Bearcats is a not-for profit organization based in Port Adelaide and fields 35 junior teams in the BASA competition and regularly participates in National Club Championships. Our Stadium is utilised by over 1000 patrons per week, 60,000 annually, and has 3 courts. to promote the game and encourage children to participate in sport we also run school competitions and visit schools to introduce this fabulous sport to students. And all of this is done on a volunteered basis.
